Sands is the stillbirth and neonatal death charity. Founded in 1978, Sands exists to reduce the number of babies dying and to ensure that anyone affected by the death of a baby receives the best possible care and support for as long as they need it wherever they are in the UK.

Sands provides bereavement support services at both a local and national level. These include the Sands Freephone helpline, online communities, family support packs, memory boxes and over 100 regional support groups run by trained befrienders.

We offer emotional support for anyone affected by pregnancy loss or baby death, regardless of when or how the loss occurred.

The Sands National Helpline provides a safe, confidential place for anyone who has been affected by the death of a baby. Whether your baby died long ago or recently, we are here for you.

The Helpline team are there to listen and give support, and can advise you about finding local help, whether from a Sands group or other counselling services, or information about other relevant support organisations.

We can offer some of our resources in many languages(including Welsh) and also, we have a language line facility on our helpline for anyone whose first language is not English.
