MAC takes pride in delivering classes in a relaxed and inclusive atmosphere, focusing on your strengths to help you grow your confidence. You will learn in a small group of 12-16 students. MAC courses are full time (3 days per week). No previous experience is required and there are no formal entry requirements. You will be invited to meet your tutors, so together, you can assess your suitability for the course.
MAC especially welcomes applications from students who have been unable to access similar opportunities elsewhere, are at risk of social exclusion, and are not in education, training or employment.
• MAC courses are available to anyone between 16-25 years old.
• Attendance of 90% and above is instrumental to successfully complete the course.
• Students at MAC also have the opportunity to undertake essential skills qualifications in numeracy and literacy.

The Level 2 in Photography is a BTEC Diploma delivered by Media Academy Cymru (MAC), at CAVC campus in Barry.
The photography course introduces students to the key areas of the moving image and Lens; Photography; Graphic and Digital Communication. We focus on students’ practical skills development: learning how to use a digital camera effectively, creating lighting set ups, using editing software (Lightroom & photoshop), responding to professional briefs, and creating a high-quality portfolio. This course also provides opportunities to develop interpersonal, soft skills relevant to the creative industries.
Successful completion leads to a diploma in Art and Design Skills, equivalent to 3 GCSEs (Grades A*-C).
